Disneyland

Well, here we are almost a month after our big trip to Disneyland and I’ve only just finished editing the photos.  It’s been rough but they are done and now ready to post!  So bear with me…it’s gonna be a big one.  I’m starting with seeing our friends first.   First we visited at the Laughrey’s where the Shertzers, Pikes, and (at least a few of them) Bolanders joined us.  It was great aside from the crazy rain storm.

I’m always amazed at how the kids just kind of pick up where they left off when we see each other.  Like there weren’t years in between visits, just a days.  They all had a blast and it was great to see everyone in one place.  After a day at Valley park in Hermosa beach,we ended our week at the Shertzer’s house and tagged along to the beach…

While Amy did her thing, the girls, well, I’m not sure what they were doing but I’m sure Amy made them look great!

We headed back to Amy’s house where we joined by the Laughrey girls for a yummy dinner (and for those of you who know Amy and how well she cooks, you know that yummy is an understatement!).

When we planned this trip, we decided to stay at the Disneyland Hotel so that we could stay longer at the parks.  We were able to see the fireworks and water shows.  Which was worth the extra cash for the resort! Plus the parks were within walking distance. One morning we went to Goofy’s Kitchen for breakfastand characters joined us throughout our meal to say “Hi” or mess with Jamie’s hair…The wait staff brought Jacob a birthday treat which was a huge surprise to him…We headed to Disneyland where we celebrated Jacob’s birthday at The Carnation Inn.  Pat E. Cake hosted the party by singing and dancing while the guests decorated their very own cakes.  Jacob then joined a parade of birthday kids that ended with meeting Micky and Minnie.

Jacob said it was the “best birthday ever” and is already making plans for next year.  Here is the rest of our visit at Disneyland and California Adventure in pictures…

So there you have it.  Our Spring break trip.  We had so much fun and enjoyed every minute of it!

Spring Break

We spent the rest of our Spring break getting outside as much as we could.  I just wanted to relax and have some fun with the kids.  So one of the afternoons, I took pictures of the kids playing outside.  Mazie was pushing Jacob on the glider swing and acting like he was knocking her over…

The laughter that followed was really great.  I love hearing that sound!  But you have to go back and watch what Jamie is doing in the series of pictures.  She was climbing onto the side of play set.  Then she would hang on the swing and let her body momentum swing her side-to-side.  While it is funny to see, she has been told several times to not do that because of swinging into whoever may be on the other swing or the glider.  She didn’t get into trouble but she was told to not do that again. again!

When they were tired of being outside or it was just too darn windy (more on that another day), they decided to make my room a playground for their stuffed animals.  All of them.  So while Jacob instructed the girls on where each animal should be placed…

and then supervised in the placing of said animals…yes, I’m aware he is holding a bear in a pink dress…the girls were working diligently to please their bossy brother…

Then he decided to entertain me (or the camera, really I’m not sure which!) with a puppet show…

The facial expressions kept me laughing for quite some time!

Four Corners

We are back and I have about a million and one pictures to edit.  However, I did edit the pictures from our drive to Williams, AZ.  We stopped for lunch at Four Corners.  This is the place where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet.  A nice lady offered to take a family photo…

The kids were thrilled.  Probably more thrilled about being out of the car than being able to run through all four states in a matter of a minute :-)!

And, yes, I said kids.  Jeremiah was a little too excited to be running in all four states as well!  More to come…
