Ten On Tuesday

1.  So my son thinks he quite the lover boy.  He has two girlfriends at school.  One has red hair (I think of Charlie Brown with that one) and one has blonde hair and blue eyes just like he does.  Those are his reasons for liking those two anyway.  Yesterday at the gym, he played with three girls the whole time I was working out.

2.  Jacob told me that when we got home, I could get a cheeky kiss!  I love that boy.

3.  It is supposed to snow here today.  It looks like it might but there isn’t anything yet.  We had 70 degrees yesterday!

4.  I’m not complaining about the weather.  However, it would have been nice to enjoy some Fall-like weather since we had such a hot summer and now it’s supposed to be in the 40s the rest of the week.

5.  Mazie and I went shopping for new sneakers for her this weekend.  She went from a size 12 to a size 2!  All of a sudden.  Most of her dressy shoes are sized 1.

6.  Jamie is still has two pair of jeans that are size 5.  They are a little snug but she likes them because she doesn’t have to roll them.  Poor thing.  Why can’t they make 6X in petite?

7.  If Jamie doesn’t grow soon, Jacob’s going to be the same size.  He wears 4T and almost the same size in shoe!

8. I am finished Christmas shopping for all the kids in our life…except ours.  I know what to get them.  I just haven’t yet.  I also know what I am getting others too.  Again, just haven’t gotten there.  I even have some birthday presents for the upcoming months already ordered or purchased!  I know, I’m on it.

9.  I have our Christmas cards ready too!  Thanks to Rachel who took our pictures last week.  Maybe there will be a sneak peek this week…

10. The downside to all that is that I have to get it wrapped and to the post office in a timely matter.  That’s where I tend to not just drop the ball but lose it altogether.  Hopefully, this will be my year to prove myself to be better at that part!

Happy Tuesday.

The Great Catch Up

I have to get things into an order before the big holidays start around here.  I like Halloween but that’s not really a big holiday for us here.  In fact, the kids didn’t even go trick-or-treating.  We went to the Fall Festival at school on Friday night and the AF/Utah football game on Saturday night.  I wasn’t going to take the kids out on Sunday because we kind of needed a day where we just didn’t go anywhere.  They didn’t even notice that we didn’t go out.  They typically forget about the candy anyway.  It sits in the pantry (while I sneak a piece here and there) until June when I finally throw it out.

So two weeks ago was Fall break around here.  I didn’t really post anything besides the kids jumping into our pathetic pile of leaves.  It really was pathetic but they did have their fun.  We also had lots of art time.  The kids love when they can color, draw, create.  So that’s what we did for one whole day.  Nothing but create…

We also enjoyed a movie day.  Each of the kids picked out one movie and then I added one for good measure.  There were lots of treats to eat.  Popcorn, chips, pretzels, and even ice cream for lunch.  Oh and they stayed in jammies all day long!

That’s all I have pictures of but the kids had fun playing together for the full two weeks.  It was time to go back last week though.  Jacob was ready to have the girls out of the house and me to himself.  And he was ready to go back too!

Last week was a busy baking week for me.  I made cupcakes for Mazie’s Fall class party.  I also made this cake for the festival.  I donated it to the cake walk.  I also had an order due on Sunday.  (you can see that on the business blog too)  Jacob loves to help me in the kitchen.  So while he was monitoring Ruby (the mixer) I snapped this picture.  He was telling me that the batter was “smooshy”.

Jacob also reached the half way point in his semester of The Little Gym classes.  So their theme for that class was a pajama party.  They were to wear their jammies and show all the parents their cool moves.  Here they are at their slumber party sleeping…

When they change stations they pretend they are a train…

I just love this picture of him showing off in front of a girl…

This picture is funny because while all the kids were doing their cool moves, it was storming (and hailing) outside and none of them noticed!

“Hey, Mom, are you getting this?”

So there was our Fall break and last week!  Whew that’s it.  I’m caught up!  November is proving to be busier than October already.  Lots going on this month.  Mazie has a choral concert and her first robotics competition, Pop Pop will be visiting 🙂 , Thanksgiving…just to name a few things.  Hopefully we will be able to breathe while all this is going on!

Ten On Tuesday

1.  After I posted that our tree was just losing its leaves, still green and unchanging, it miraculously started changing and all the leaves were yellow and then on the ground.  Just like that, in a matter of days!

2.  So what do you do with all those leaves?  Jump!

3.  And the kids were all about it…

4.  I even got a few of all three together in the leaves…(check the banner too).

5.  This was all until one of the kids stepped into a pile of cat poop and was done.

6.  Yep, we have cats…some from neighbors who let them outside, some stray…who roam around the neighborhood using our yard as a cat box.

7.  Wanna know what my idea is to getting rid of the cat poop?  Get a dog.

8.  I’m not so sure we are ready for another being in the house, especially since I want a larger dog.  Read bigger than our last dog.

9.  Remember him?  The crazy Jack Russell named Cleatus?  Yeah, Jeremiah is not allowed to pick this one.  We will adopt and we will pick all together.

10.  This was a pretty weird Ten on Tuesday.  I started with leaves and ended with dogs.  That’s kind of how my brain has been working lately.  It will straighten out eventually. 😉

Happy Tuesday!

Wednesday with Jamie

Jamie has always been our little Tom Boy.  She’s the perfect middle child.  She loves to play dress up with Mazie and become a beautiful princess but she likes to take that dress and play outside in the dirt with Jacob.

But lately she’s become quite girly.  Notice the hair tuck?  Yep, that’s all her…

I’ve been catching her checking herself out in the mirror to make sure her hair is perfect and smiling at herself in the window.  Really, it’s like she’s a teen!

She’s been talking about two boys in her class too.  Like she likes them…BOYS.

And when being teased about these two boys by her daddy, she gets this little pinking in her cheeks and has to hide her huge smile with her arms before finally laughing too!

There’s also the sass that’s started with this one.  And whoa, it’s hit us like a side of bricks too!

But no matter what, she’s still tom boy like and still loves to be simple and carefree like only a 6 year old can be.

I have a feeling something just won’t change with Jamie which is fine with this Mama!

Ten On Tuesday

1.  We have our last first ever Parent/Teacher conference.  Are you following me?  We are scheduled to meet with Jacob’s teachers for the first time this afternoon.  He’s the last one so it’s our last first conference.  I knew you would get it. 😉

2.  I am loving WordPress.  It’s actually easier than I was expecting it to be.  With the business blog, they imported all my old stuff!  What have you been thinking of the new blogs?

3.  I think October is busier than September was and we are only on the 5th.  Anyone else feel like that?

4.  Fall break starts on Friday.  Two weeks + all three kiddos at home = a ready for Fall break to be over Mama!

5.  No, really, I’m looking forward to some time with the kids.  Since it’s cooler lately, we can go to parks that we haven’t been to for a while, stay in our jammies if we want to, make a fort, lots of things to do!

6.  Have I mentioned that Fall is my favorite season?  It is and I’ll tell you why.  I love to run on the crispy mornings and the leaves change colors.  It makes it even more beautiful here.

7.  Well, normally.  For some reason, the leaves on our tree aren’t really changing colors.  They are just falling off.  I’ve noticed that on some others around our neighborhood too.

8.  The kids are working on Christmas lists.

9.  Did anyone see the big sale going on over at the business blog?  It’s big and lots of those goodies can be shipped.  I’m just sayin’.

10.  Tonight we are having Cooking Light’s Broccoli Cheese Soup.  What are you having?

Happy Tuesday!
